Signs of stress – Learn to Recognize Them!Do you know what the signs of stress are? This page discusses the definition of stress, biggest causes of stress, and effects of stress on body.
When I look at a person’s aura, it is obvious when they are stressed as there are visible knots and strains in tell-tale areas. I can tell if a person suffers tension headaches as the knots appear around their head like a crown of thorns. I once did a reading for a man who was going through a divorce, and his heart chakra was stretched and distorted – a sure sign of stress in this region. Definition of Stress Many people ask, “what is the definition of stress?” They know they may feel under pressure or slightly more busy than usual, but does that mean they are stressed?
I wrote a page about the definition of stress to answer this question.
Stress can be caused by anything that upsets you. Conflict is often the biggest culprit, and can occur in the workplace, at school, at home, or just about anywhere two or more people can gather! People often find coping with holiday stress is a challenge, as it brings all members of a family together under one roof and tensions can flare. Stress can also be caused by any situation that has been occurring for a long period without a break (otherwise known as burnout). Parents, students and anyone who works is at risk of burnout. The worst part of this type of stress is that it often sneaks up on you. You don’t realize that you’re stressed until you reach a critical breaking point. Effects of stress on body Sometimes, a person may not even realize that they are stressed. The body is an amazing thing, and it has ways to tell you that something is emotionally wrong if you are too busy to think of it! I outline some more common signs of stress below, but I’ll discuss stress rash (some people call it hives) and hair loss related to stress here. I remember as a child, my dad breaking out in an awful rash when we moved house. My mother commented that it must have been the stress of moving, and that has stuck with me. I’ve never had a stress rash myself, but I know it is possible! A personal example of stress and hair loss happened when I first moved from Australia to the United States. My husband and I were so excited, we were in a wonderful new country and it was all so exciting finding an apartment and furniture, etc. Then, my hair started coming out in clumps while in the shower. At first I just let it go, but after a few weeks it really began to bother me. Luckily, once we were settled in our apartment and had some order in our lives, the hair loss settled down and eventually stopped.
