Patchouli Essential Oil

Patchouli essential oil smells robust, mossy and heavy. This scent isn't for everybody; in fact some find the smell quite offensive.

It is an aphrodisiac (some others obviously don't find the smell offensive!) Rumor has it that this essential oil was used during the free love period of the 1960's to cover the smell of marijuana and body odor.

Related to the mint herb, it is used in traditional Chinese medicine to relieve abdominal pain. It also releases mucus from the chest when you have a cold or flu.

This oil works well with steam, so you can add a few drops to some fresh water to use in a diffuser. Alternatively, you can add a few drops to a bath and inhale deeply.

You can also dot this oil to your pressure points to use as perfume.

Warning: This oil will make you smell like a hippie.
