Lemon Essential Oil
The fresh, tangy citrus aroma of lemon essential oil offers antidepressant and antiseptic benefits.
Smelling like the freshly peeled fruit, it brings clarity and intuition to those who use it. Sources quote a study in Japan, where they diffused the oil in an office and typing errors were reduced by 54%. Put a few drops in a diffuser with some lavender oil for relief of the symptoms of cold and flu. You can also dilute it and use on cuts and scratches (it may sting a little). Add some of this oil and tea tree oil to some water in a spray bottle and viola! - You have an antiseptic, antibacterial, refreshing room and surface spray. It is also a good insect repellent when added to a carrier such as olive oil and rubbed into the skin. Warning: Too much citrus can give you a headache, so make sure there is good air circulation! Also, citrus is photosensitive, which means it will bleach in sunlight. Always dilute essential oil before applying it to your skin.
