Is see green swirling and blue pulsing colors
Q: I meditate once a day from a Buddhist stand point. I focus on the training of the mind to see truth, feel compassion and gain confidence in life. I would say so far it is going very well and I look forward to it every morning. I'm about a month in and I've upped the time from 15 mins to 30 a day.
Recently, when I'm in what I am assuming is a 'deep' state I can see a bright green swirling circle pulsating in front of me, its blurry and rough. Its accompanied by a bright bluey-purple solid circle shape which seems to race down my nose and away from me, this repeats and pulsates like my mind is trying to see through something. All this seems to be a product of tight feeling around my temples that slowly shifts around my forehead. At first I thought a spirit might be holding my head but in retrospect it seems more normal than that.
I mostly practise zazen, so I have my eyes half open. I can see this also with my eyes closed. To be honest, its quite lovely and I feel like I'm seeing my own energy.
Two nights ago I awoke suddenly a 5 in the morning, The room was quite bright. I turned to my left and my girlfriend had a blue blur around her bare shoulder it shifted as I tried to look at it. The more I focused on it the more I slipped into this visual meditative state. the big blue circle appeared so I decided to go back to sleep. I also feel like I can see a white blur around people.
Q1. What's happening to me? Q2. How can I distinguish an aura from an after image.
Q: The bright green circle you see in front of you is the energy from your heart chakra. The bluey-purple energy you see coming out of your face is your brow chakra. This brow chakra is also known as the third eye. The tight feeling around your head is your third eye opening. It shouldn't hurt so much if you keep yourself grounded.
Grounding will also stop the sleep disturbances. Just make sure that the universe knows that your energy is to remain in your body at all times, unless you specifically indicate it's time for that energy to flow, such as when you take your time to meditate.
You are seeing auras, there is no doubt. An after-image is caused when you stare at an object for too long and then the shape of that object gets temporarily burned onto your retina. You'll see that object everywhere you look for about a minute, then it goes away.
