Distracted by colors
Q: Hi, my daughter says she can read peoples auras. She says that everything in our world has color, but it the opposite color on a color wheel. I do believe her. She is 11. The issue is that she says its very distracting seeing colors all of the time. Does this sound typical? I know she has ocd, but she says this isn't her ocd. I need direction for her. Thanks for your time...
Eva's response: What a challenge for you! I think what your daughter is currently experiencing is an after-image, which happens when you stare at an object for too long and the frequency of that color gets burned onto your retina. Then, when you change your focus (eg close your eyes or look away) you see the object's opposite color. A bit like a negative when taking a photo. My advice is to see an optometrist about this. Here's some info about afterimages.
This isn't to say that she isn't gifted, as I believe illnesses such as OCD come from the body processing a higher level of energy that the brain can't logically explain. May I suggest that you read any books by Dr Claire Weekes
and discuss the content with your daughter. Dr Weekes' books really helped me get my anxiety disorder under control.
Finally, can I give you this advice: Kids these days are under a lot of pressure. In the next few years she will have hormones raging, and all sorts of social and mental growth will occur. There will be plenty of time in her adulthood to pursue any sort of clairvoyant gift she may possess. In the meantime, encourage her to be a kid.
If she does insist on pursuing her gifts during her teens, please ensure she grounds herself and white-lights herself daily. Tell her to imagine tree roots coming out of her feet and connecting with the core of the earth, and to see herself surrounded by pure white light. Take 1 min each day to do this.
