Can I Stop Seeing Auras?

Q: Hi, in one of your posts you said that people are born with these abilities and many keep them but some lose them. Is it possible to intentionally lose them?

I have been seeing auras for some time now, and the more I focus on that 'dimension' the more I can see. This includes flashes of lightning, flashing dots of different colours, I can even see UV radiation.

My psychic ability improves also, I can easily predict what episode of my favorite show will play on TV.

But the most irritating part is my hypersensitivity to emotion. I can feel what others are feeling, and it is just too overwhelming. Furthermore, I do not wish to develop these 'talents' any further. I want to live a life amongst others, not shrouded in secrecy because people cancel you out. I don't want to live in a dimension other than this one.

Is there a way to say 'no' to this forever?

Background: I have been idling with this 'ability' for about 5 years now, I'm 20 and I can say that the past 5 years have been the worst quarter of my life. I just want to say this is a rational decision. Thanks for your help.

Eva's Response: The vast majority of letters I get are from people who want to develop either their own ability, or their kids' ability. I always urge caution - and your letter is the perfect example of why.

I, like you, went through a phase between the ages of 17 and 24 where I underwent a period of massive spiritual growth, and it was not pleasant. The best way I can explain it is like someone cracked me open and suddenly I was exposed to a level of existence that was very emotional and difficult to deal with.


Panic attacks, nightmares, night terrors, anxiety episodes, seeing things, uncomfortable sensations right through my body... oh yes, I understand your pain.

So my advice to you: Firstly, a lot of this will calm down in your mid twenties and you will live a harmonious life.

AND, the big thing to remember, is that you can switch off this ability, and switch it back on again if you want to, and then switch it back off again just as easily. I will explain how.

You need to know that it will take perhaps a week or two of solid effort and retraining yourself before you are shut off for the first time.

Begin by ignoring everything from that 'dimension' when you see it. You might see a flash of colour, and that's ok, you can ignore it. If you're watching a TV program, focus on the happenings on the TV program. If you are in conversation with a person, listen to what they are saying, rather than being distracted by the color.

My other advice is:
* Drink lots of water (water is grounding)
* Eat a healthy diet
* Get outside as much as you can
* Read fiction books (I really like Phillipa Gregory but that's just me)
* Watch funny movies - anything that requires little thought and makes you laugh.
* If you work or study, really throw yourself into it. Keep your mind occupied.

Intentionally keep yourself in this dimension by only acknowledging things from this dimension. Just calmly ignore everything else and it will go away, I promise.
