Auras and Migraines
by V. Healy
(California)
Q: I have just recently figured out that I am able to see auras if I take the time and focus.
Last night I had an interesting experience. I want to bed with a migraine and was really out of sorts. I stared at the wall to focus on a spot that was stationary, I was feeling like the room was spinning.
Eventually, the spinning stopped, and I was able to close my eyes to try to get to sleep. A few times I had to open my eyes because the vertigo felt like it was coming back.
One of the last times I opened my eyes I was seeing a yellow-green color (somewhat transparent) coming in waves. More specifically, I could describe them as rings in varying thickness that were traveling inward to one point. That point was me.
The only medicine I took for the migraine was ibuprofen, as I don't want to medicate myself more than I feel necessary, and I have had very few migranes since having kids almost 5 years ago.
I am confused at to what happened, and what it meant. But I can tell you that this experience went on for a few minutes, and shortly afterward the pain from the migraine subsided enough to allow me to get to sleep.
Any thought or ideas are greatly appreciated.
Eva's Response: Ordinarily I'd write off an experience like your's as a migraine aura. But from what I've read, migraine auras tend to happen before the painful headache, not as it begins to subside.
This leads me to believe that you may have seen healing energy (healing energy is green, like spring green). It also moves in the wave-like pattern you describe. Now you've seen it, you can use it. Next time you are ill, imagine that green light coming at you again and soak up all that wonderful healing energy.
