What is an Aura?

I am constantly asked "What is an aura?", "How can you see them?" and my all time favorite, "What can you see around me?"

The human energy field acts as a map of thoughts and feelings surrounding a person. It is a beautiful and interesting thing, and so much can be learned about a person by studying it.

People are sometimes uncomfortable when they learn that I can see and read energies because they think I'm some devilish mind reader who can see all their innermost secrets.

The truth is, I can't see anything that you don't want me to see. I'll give you two examples:

My dearly beloved partner, Matt, has lived with me for years and instinctively knows when I am looking at his energy field. He simply turns it white - so I can't see anything! I've asked him how he does it, and he replied "I just think, 'Stop reading me' and it happens."

The second example happened when I was at a course for work. On this particular day, our course was led by two men.

The first man's energy was shining brilliantly, alive with buzz and color. You could tell he was truly passionate about the course he was teaching.

The second man's aura was invisible to me. Try as I might, I could not even see his physical layer.

As it turns out, he later told me in conversation that he was an Adventist Christian. It immediately became clear to me: If I were to read his energy field, it would be against his deepest beliefs. His spiritual guidance had put a barrier around him so that I could not read it. I learned a very valuable lesson from this experience.

The science behind auras is actually quite simple. At the very basis of things, we are all just masses of vibrating stuff. This stuff creates light and energy.

But it goes deeper than science, with intuition playing the lead role when seeing and interpreting them.

This site deals mainly with the human energy field, which presents itself as layers of meaning around a person.
