12-year-old Daughter Just Started Seeing Auras

Q: I have a 12 year old daughter that has always been very fascinated with these kinds of things.

Yesterday she came home from school claiming she saw an aura on her teacher. She described the aura as being white and having a sparkling look to it. She also said that it was around her teachers head. Do you believe this was an aura?

She also claimed when her father was in her bedroom she saw a yellow-green aura around him, but I don't know if it was a trick of her eyes because she her walls are painted aqua blue.

What do you think? She also has always been very sensitive and can become stressed very quickly. Do you think that this is why she can possibly see people's auras?

Sometimes she also has nightmares that she has died, and also had dreams that other people have died. Do you believe this may mean anything, and if so, what?

Also today she hasn't been able to read anyone's aura, even after trying numerous times. Do you believe that she lost the ability, or she never even had this ability? Thank you very much, Eva.

To answer your question quickly, yes, I do believe she is seeing auras. In both examples you give me, she is in an environment with another person she can focus on, with minimal pressure.

It's likely the reason why she couldn't see auras the next day is that she felt she was being tested, and this caused her intuition to shut down. It happens to me all the time when I'm put on the spot.

At the tender age of 12, it's important that you just allow her ability to develop at its own pace. She will soon enter adolescence, and with her anxiety and the added pressure of hormones and just life in general, you don't want to push her too much.

This ability may even go away during her teen years and return in adulthood, like it did for me. I believe this is the Universe's way of giving the poor kids a break while they go through the most important physical growth of their lives.

If you've seen shows such as "Psychic Kids", you can see what turmoil these poor young people go through when their sixth sense doesn't give them a break during puberty.

Your daughter reminds me of myself at her age :) I was always such a bundle of nerves, sensitive. One day I've promised myself I will sit down and write about my own battle with anxiety (before I beat it). It makes life so hard.

By the way, dreams about death don't mean that someone will die, it means the end of a phase or cycle, and the beginning of a new one. "Out with the old and in with the new" as the saying goes. She is at an age where things end and begin almost every day.

My advice to you is: Her home needs to be a comfortable haven for her. Make sure she knows you believe in her and that she can always talk to you. She may not want to talk about it, which is fine as well. Reassure her that everything is ok, you know she gets scared at times, but if she makes herself relax, the fear will go away.
